How Sweet Treats by Sophia Came to Life.

Baking has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. When I was little, my mom and I would spend hours in the kitchen together, covered in flour and sprinkles, creating cookies for every occasion. I loved hosting cookie decorating parties and looked forward to Christmas cookie season all year long. Each year, we’d try a new decorating technique—skills that, without even realizing it, became the foundation of what I do today.

Fast forward to January 2025—I suddenly found myself with some unexpected free time after losing my job. Around that same time, a friend asked if I could make cookies for her grandson’s first birthday. I had never done custom cookies before, but I decided to give it my best shot. With YouTube tutorials as my teacher and a whole lot of trial and error, I dove headfirst into perfecting royal icing.

That first order changed everything. After that, I was hooked! I started baking cookies for any and every occasion I could think of, and soon enough, word began to spread. Orders started coming in, and for the first time, I felt that spark—that this was what I was meant to do.

What started as a childhood hobby eventually grew into Sweet Treats by Sophia—a small business built from a genuine love for baking and a passion for creating something special for others to enjoy.
